Pro mode and reasoning effort
Every GPT-6 model takes an adjustable reasoning effort, from low for quick answers to max for hard problems. A higher level means more thinking tokens, so more cost and a longer wait. For chat and simple tasks, low or medium is enough.
The "Pro" versions (such as GPT-6 Astra Pro and GPT-6.1 Sol Pro) are the same models run in pro mode. The per-token price is the same, but they reason much more, so a typical request costs several times as much. Use them only where a wrong answer is expensive.
What would a month cost?
Three common scenarios at live Hormouz prices. These are estimates; real cost depends on message length.
| Model | Website chatbot: 3,000 conversations a month | Support bot: 10,000 tickets a month | Coding helper: 200 sessions a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPT-6 Luna | $1.05 | $3.50 | $1.10 |
| GPT-6.1 Sol | $21.00 | $70.00 | $22.00 |
| GPT-6 Astra | $105 | $350 | $110 |

The OpenAI code you write today works with Hormouz
Only base_url and the key change. The rest of your code, including streaming and tool calls, stays the same.

- Is the ChatGPT API the same as ChatGPT?
- ChatGPT is OpenAI's app; the API gives your program the same GPT models. With the API you choose the model and build the interface yourself.
- Do I need an OpenAI account or a Plus subscription?
- No. You need only a Hormouz account and an API key.
- My code is written for OpenAI. Do I have to change it?
- No. In the official OpenAI SDK set base_url to https://api.hormouz.net/v1 and use your Hormouz key.
- Is Pro worth it?
- Only for hard, high-stakes problems. For daily work the same model without Pro, at a suitable reasoning effort, is enough and several times cheaper.
- How do I pay?
- You buy credit with an Iranian bank card through the gateway in the dashboard, and each request is taken from it.
